Google releases a new guide to using audiences on Google Search in AdWords, while the deadline for expanded text ads looms closer…
Earlier this month, Google published a new guide to connecting with valuable, returning customers by using Customer Match and remarketing lists for search ads (RLSA).
As the official announcement from the Inside AdWords blog explains, the new guide covers everything an advertiser needs to consider when connecting a user’s searches with what they already know about them. The topics include:
- Powering search campaigns with audience insights
- Maximizing engagement when applying your lists
- Taking full advantage of other AdWords tools that work well with audiences

Don’t forget to switch to expanded text ads next week!
In September, we reported that Google would be expanding the deadline for AdWords users to switch to expanded text ads. However, with the new deadline set for 31st January 2017, you have just a week left to make the switch!
So, what will be happening? From 31st January, you’ll no longer be able to create or edit standard text ads. To avoid this, make sure you update your ads before the deadline hits.
Please bear in mind that standard text ads will continue to be served past the deadline date, although you won’t be able to make edits without creating a new ad.
