Snapchat makes it easier for businesses to use Geofilters, and Pinterest adds a ‘Tried and True’ feature
Snapchat is making it easier for small and medium-sized businesses to buy and use branded Geofilters.
As Snapchat reported last Thursday, they will be offering a selection of design templates for businesses buying Geofilter sponsorships on an “on-demand, self-serve basis”, Fortune explains.
To use these new Geofilters, businesses will need to customise their filter(s), and wait for Snapchat’s team to verify their design. It’s reported that this should take around a day to be approved.
Prices will start at $5, though an annual subscription has also been made available for businesses.
While we’re on the subject of apps and social media, Pinterest has unveiled a ‘Tried and True’ feature.
The new element will ask users to indicate if they’ve tried tutorials or recipes on the platform, and will aim to help others decide on which Pins to try themselves.
The TJM take: There’s a few fans of Snapchat filters in the TJM office, and we’re all very intrigued by the idea of using branded Geofilters. We are planning to look at this in more detail, so keep your eyes peeled!
