Recipes get a new look and feel in Google’s mobile search results
Google has unveiled a new interface for the recipe results that appear when conducting mobile searches.
First noticed by Alex Chitu, the writer of unofficial Google blog, ‘Google Operating System’, richer images and related keywords are appearing in recipe-related searches that are conducted using a mobile device.
The related keywords, which will appear in bubbles, can be seen below:

As Search Engine Land reports, the results now show various recipe cards with a ‘view all’ link. When this is clicked on, you will be able to filter the results using the related keywords that appear at the top of the SERP.
To further refine your result, you are also able to select more than one keyword.
The TJM take: One main advantage of this new mobile interface? Not only do the search results generally look nicer, but the easier navigation means they’re also far more user-friendly.
Although people will want to use schema markup to get to the top of the search results, the drawback is that users won’t necessarily need to click through to a website to read the whole recipe (or instructions). We can see this getting frustrating for the likes of bloggers who reply on users visiting their website.
Could the increasing focus on schema markup be due to voice search? This seems quite likely, and we can see it continuing to grow in importance due to the introduction of the Google Echo, amongst similar A.I.s.
