In celebration of International Women’s Day, we want to #beboldforchange.
In recognition that there is still a 19.6% pay gap in the UK, we thought it would be a good idea to give this time back to companies who are helping the equality cause.
So, for any business where a woman runs the Marketing department or who owns the business we are going to give 19.6% (the gender pay gap) extra free time until March 7th 2018. We sadly can’t guarantee that their business will also be rewarding them equally, but we hope to create a talking point and reward steps in the right direction.
How are Traffic Jam Media working towards gender equality in the workplace?
As a small business we are taking every step that we can to get equality right. It is not easy and we are aware we all still have a long way to go, but we are trying!
Last year we engaged with the awesome Chwarae Teg program in Wales. Chwarae Teg are funded by the European Social Fund and the Welsh Government to help influence Welsh companies and institutions to improve equality in Wales. They also fund training for women who are in or about to join the workforce.
We encourage every woman on our team to take part in the training and experiences Chwarae Teg have to offer.
